Rare Antique Tibetan Buddhist Plaque
Superbly carved Buddha seated in the lotus position.
Made of yak bone.
Has two well-defined borders.
The back shows some nails so it may have been a part of personal shrine or Ghau prayer box.
Estimated to be from the 1800s

History of this piece: Tibetan pilgirms offer these prayer wheels at monasteries as a token of worship. These offerings are then auctioned sometimes. This and the other prayer wheel 1288 and a few other items were acquired in such an auction.
